Professionals in the field of aging often focus so intently on helping others that they forget to help themselves. To remedy this, ASA encourages all Aging in America Conference attendees to take advantage of the Saturday Pathfinder Sessions, nine special workshops designed to assist aging services professionals to better navigate the future for themselves and for their clients.

Each workshop addresses a major life challenge, including physical health and wellness; community engagement; ongoing learning and creativity; encore careers; ageism; and retirement planning. Changing Our Nation's Perception of Baby Boomers for Good: This workshop offers an inspiring look at the more than nine civic engagement projects, from Maine to Oregon, that have been mobilizing adults ages 50 and older to address significant social issues and affect change in local communities.

Get a Life: Eat, Sleep, Play!: Find a way to put purpose back into the lives of elders with hands-on exercises in dance, storytelling, theater and music with four experts in lifelong learning: Susan Perlstein, Stuart Kandell, Maria Genne and John Fitzgerald.

The Invisible Face of Aging: Can We Look in the Mirror?: Stop ageism "creep" through awareness! Based on solid research, Harry (Rick) Moody and Connie Goldman will take you through ageism, from personal stories to policy, and propose strategies and projects for coping with and stopping ageism.

Care of Mind, Body, Spirit for Caregivers: Learn how the theory of stress response backfires in today's world and how to create balance in life with presenters Colleen Caron and Linda CaoBaker of the Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital. …
