ACTE Board Election Results

ACTE is pleased to announce the election results for new members of the organization's Board of Directors:

* President-elect is Sarah Heath from Denver, Colorado. Sarah will join the Board in her new position in July 2013.

* Engineering and Technology Education Division vice president-elect is Paul Asunda from Carbondale, Illinois. Paul will join the Board in July 2014.

* Family and Consumer Sciences vice president is Charlotte Gray from Foristell, Missouri. Charlotte will join the Board in July 2013.

* New and Related Services vice president is Sherry Adrian from Edmond, Oklahoma. Sherry will join the Board in July 2013.

* Region II vice president is Juli Gilyard from Atlanta, Georgia. Juli will join the Board in July 2013.

* Region IV vice president-elect is Sherry Siler from Alma, Arkansas. Sherry will join the Board injury 2014.

* Trade and Industrial Education vice president-elect is Alex Gromada from Belleville, Illinois. Alex will join the Board in July 2014.

Also joining the Board injuly 2013 are: Doug Major, president; Katrina Plese, Region III vice president; and Gary Hutchinson, Business Education Division vice president.

National ACTE Excellence Awards Changes

ACTE has taken steps to respond to member needs and provide excellent customer service. We want to make it easier for members to be recognized. The deadline for slate winner applications to be turned in for regional consideration is March 1. The winners at the Region level will be moved forward for national consideration in the summer. The awards affected by this deadline change are: Teacher of the Year, Outstanding Career and Technical Educator, Outstanding New CTE Teacher, Outstanding Teacher in Community Service and Career Guidance Award. Now Is the Time to Recognize Excellence in CTE

Do you know someone who would be an ideal candidate for one of the ACTE Excellence Awards? The National ACTE Excellence Awards Program includes: ACTE Image, Lifetime Achievement, Award of Merit and Carl Perkins Outstanding Service. Awards nominations must be submitted by an ACTE member in good standing. The details for each award can be found on the awards website.
