Nine young Greek producers selected to promote their projects at Cannes.

The Greek film industry will have a notable presence on the croisette later this month, despite the absence of any Greek films in Cannes' Official Selection.

Ile de France Film Commission, the German Media Council of Berlin-Brandenburg and the Film Commissions of Madrid and Rome-Lazio have chosen Greece as the special guest at the 66th Cannes Film Festival in Regions Capitales pour le cinema.

Co-ordinating the event is Olivier-René Veillon of Île de France and Demosthenes Davvetas, the Cultural Affairs Councillor of the Greek Prime Minister's office, with the backing of the Greek Film Center (GFC).

They will be joined by GFC president George Papalios and GFC general director Gregory Karantinakis.

A group of nine young producers will travel to Cannes to promote their upcoming projects and meet with specially invited foreign producers and financiers.

They include:
