Redevelopment plans announced

The allocation of a £202m investment in Northern Ireland's prison estate has been confirmed following a consultation. The funds will go to the redevelopment of Magilligan Prison, the transformation of Hydebank Wood into a secure college and the establishment of a dedicated facility for women prisoners, among others.


Griffiths moves to local government

In a reshuffle of the Welsh Cabinet, former health minister Lesley Griffiths has been appointed to the local government portfolio. Carl Sergeant, who previously held the local government brief, has moved to housing and regeneration replacing Huw Lewis who takes on a new role overseeing communities and tackling poverty. Academic Mark Drakeford has joined the Cabinet as health minister.


Health bodies join opinion website

The Scottish Government has given health bodies £160,000 to work with a website, Patient Opinion, that allows patients to rate the health care they receive from the NHS. …
