OCLC Offers WorldShare

OCLC is offering its WorldShare Interlibrary Loan Service to libraries in the U.S. It will combine discovery and delivery of electronic, digital, and print materials in a single interface and give the option to purchase items rather than borrow them. New features include displaying lender costs from the OCLC Policies Directory; automatically extending the lender string as needed; including a time frame for responding to a request; simplifying access to appropriate editions; and incorporating new "buy-it" options.

WorldShare Interlibrary Loan Service is built on the OCLC WorldShare Platform.

New OA Journal From Wiley

John Wiley & Sons, Inc. launched Immunity, Inflammation, and Disease, an OA journal providing research in immunology. All articles will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution license. The articles will be in Wiley Online Library and deposited in PubMed Central.

ProQuestand OCLC Team Up

ProQuest and OCLC have teamed up to launch a data exchange program. Once the data exchange is completed, libraries that subscribe to both WorldCat Local and ProQuest Central or that own any ebrary content will be able to discover ProQuest records and access content through the WorldCat Local interface.

NoveList Select Integrated Into Evergreen ILS

EBSCO Publishing announced the integration of NoveList Select, its catalog enrichment service, into the Evergreen ILS. Developers created new code that enables NoveList Select to be turned on with no additional development time from librarians. This feature lets mutual customers enhance their catalogs. NoveList Select works with many major vendors and systems.

Combined Title From Wiley Offered OA

John Wiley & Sons, Inc. launched the Journal of Medical Radiation Sciences, which combines two other journals, The Radiographer and Shadows, into a new journal. It is offered OA and is part of the Wiley Open Access program. It is an international and multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal.

KBSI and Springer Publish OA Journal

Springer Science+Business Media and the Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI) will partner to publish the Journal of Analytical Science and Technology. It will be an OA journal in the SpringerOpen portfolio, available on SpringerLink. It offers a Technical Notes section that reports on developments and applications in analytical technology that do not yet have a complete theoretical foundation.

Libraries to Receive Historical News From ProQuest

ProQuest is offering, a historical news content database that contains content from local newspapers from North America, the U.K., and select countries, to libraries. Libraries will have the option to purchase a perpetual archive rather than to subscribe. There will be academic and public library versions that break up the content into state-level products and individual titles.

EBSCO Expands Resources

EBSCO Pubkshing and Oxford University Press (OUP) have extended their partnership to make two more resources from OUP, University Press Scholarship Online and Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, searchable on EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS). University Press Scholarship Online provides more than 10,000 titles in 24 subject areas from 10 university presses. Oxford Dictionary of National Biography offers more than 50,000 biographies. …
