My first observation of this CD is the fact that the creative flow of Anat Cohen does not seem to have an ending. Each time she creates another program of recorded music it is just a little bit more challenging and better than the last one. She has few equals on her chosen instruments. The quartet has just become more and more unified as they work and record together. Now you add the guest artists to the mix and what you have here is a cohesive but varied experience.

I shall dwell with Wycliffe Gordon first. The two tracks he recorded are among my favorites. First the tempo of the well known La Vie En Rose is unusual in that it is taken slow and in a stop gap manner. His vocal is also different than most. …
