The line between classical and jazz music is not well defined and this unusual album falls into that area. The music, all composed by Ms. Eck-emoff, is very much im-pressionistic in nature not that far removed from say Debussy, Delius or Hov-haness. My first impres-sion was is this really jazz and should it be reviewed in a publication such as this. Repetition is a won-derful thing as it gives one insights that are not that apparent initially. This music has structure but also there is improvising and those qualities of rhythm and harmony - yes it is jazz too.
