The GLM will cease operating as a separate entity, with its members being invited to join the Production Guild of Great Britain instead.

The UK Guild Of Location Managers (GLM) - the UK body representing location managers working in film and TV - is to be incorporated into the Production Guild of Great Britain.

The body will cease to exist as a separate entity on June 30, with its members being invited to join the Production Guild of Great Britain, which represents members of the UK industry including line producers, post production supervisors and assistant directors.

Some 50 members of the Guild of Location Managers are expected to join the Production Guild this week.

According to a statement from GLM's chair Jane Soans on the body's website, the decision was based on the GLM becoming a "victim of its own success".

"In order to be able to continue the essential support that the GLM provides for its members, the Committee have had to carefully consider the future of the Guild. …
