Harold Mabern, a Memphis native, has been on the scene now for over a half century. He has worked mostly as a sideman by choice but does have a nice discography under his own name too. In this instance he is working with a friend of long standing, Eric Alexander. Eric has been a feature in the Chicago area for years but not exclusively there. He is a fine straight ahead, no nonsense tenor player. The two blend so well. I am of the opinion that the bass and drummer are regulars with Eric Alexander. …
