George Cables, a classically trained pianist out of New York City, brings a lot of experience to this musical program. He is now approaching 69 years young. His resume includes being a ex-Jazz Messenger. He worked with Sonny Rollins in the early 1970s and that is how he happened to get to the West Coast where he lived at both Los Angeles and later San Francisco. One of his highlights was the time he spent with Dexter Gordon later in that same decade. He had a long standing association with Art Pepper who considered him the best. George made his recording debut in 1968.

Essiet Essiet is a native of Nebraska but his parents came here from Nigeria. He is another ex-Messanger, who came to New York City years ago and has been a first call bass player in that city and elsewhere. …
