The Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Interest Group held its annual meeting on February 14, 2013 at the NASP convention in Seattle, Washington. The primary purpose of the meeting was for informal discussion and networking. Group members reviewed recent progress on TBI resources, research initiatives, and projects for the coming year. The group is planning to create Web-based training modules on TBI assessment and prepackaged presentations, complete with presenter notes and guides, to better facilitate dissemination of information on TBI. Such information can help school psychologists better understand their role in working with students with TBI. The interest group coordinators are also coauthoring a book entitled Working With Traumatic Brain Injury in Schools: Transition, Assessment, and Intervention, which will be published by the time of the NASP convention next year. A TBI-specific chapter will also be included in the upcoming edition of Best Practices in School Psychology VI.

A goal of the interest group is to help school psychologists better recognize and respondió brain injuries of all severity levels. …
