Frugality aids infrastructure spend

Careful management has enabled the V\felsh Government to spend around £1.3bn more on infrastructure in the past year. In an update on the May 2012 Wales infrastructure investment plan, Finance Minister Jane Hütt said the funding rise, derived in part from local government borrowing and capital reserves, had enabled the government to spend more on housing, health facilities and schools.
