Last fall, the Youth & College Division's national work committee launched a membership campaign titled "Revive 25." The goal of the campaign would be to encourage every unit to recruit or renew memberships for 25 youths between October 15 and Feb 15 of 2013. The idea was the brainchild of Brendien Mitchell, president of the Florida Youth and College Division, who had approached the national youth work committee with the idea of a simple, yet effective grassroots membership campaign. The campaign had three major parts: revive, rekindle and respond.

The goal was to revive membership of the youth and college division, reactivate expired units across various regions, and branch out to other grassroots organizations that share our goals.

We wanted to rekindle the relationships with our local and national leadership, including staff, board members, and national youth work committee youth reps and adults. We saw that these relationships can grow weak with the changing of leadership in the Youth & College Division occurring so often.

And lastly, we wanted to respond to the issues within our communities by developing new programming that addressed those concerns. One thing that became quite clear very fast was the fact that without members on the ground, organizing was difficult, and in some areas impossible.

Ariana Noble, a Region I Youth Board Member from Ocean Side, Calif, and co-chair of the Revive 25 Campaign, said this was a priority.
