My whole clan is excited about this new school year. The girl is entering her last year of elementary school (she's one of the big kids now), while the boy is starting second grade (wasn't he just in pre-K?). Meanwhile, the hubby and I are happy to have our regular schedule back after a looong summer of scrambling to cover pickups and drop-offs. Oh, the joy of having both kids at the same location again!

That said, we still have so much work to do before settling into the new school year: Both kids need sneakers and backpacks; I've got to hem what seems like four dozen pairs of pants (why are we all so short?!); and of course, we're about to be hit with 4,503 new school forms, medical documents and permission slips that will all require filling out immediately

So much to do and so little time, especially when you're also dealing with the extra days off that come with the end of summer camp/start of school, as well as the annual race to the end of the year at work, which always seems to start right about now. …
