Dean Devlin Launches Sales Division

Electric Entertainment's Dean Devlin, who co-founded Voltage Pictures with Nicolas Chartier, has launched an international film and television sales division.

Sonia Mehandjiyska has been hired to head the unit and will represent Electric productions as well as third-party product, kicking off in Toronto with crime drama The Wannabe from executive producer Martin Scorsese.

Mehandjiyska previously served as head of sales at Global Screen in Munich and prior to that held senior posts at Gibraltar Entertainment, Lightning Entertainment and Echo Bridge.

Nick Sandow wrote and will direct The Wannabe, which takes place in 1990s New York. Patricia Arquette, Vincent Piazza and Michael Imperioli will star in the story of a man who tries to fix the trial of mobster John Gotti and sets off on a wild ride with a female companion.

Electric Entertainment is fully financing the film and serves as executive producer with Traction Media. …
