MUSIC 'Singing for dancing, dancing for singing' is the motto to JigJaw's Doodle I Doe (Doodle I Records), a hugely happy album from four women with a taste for acappella songs and clogs. Drawing their material from various traditions, Doodle I Doe emphasizes musical community and continuity and they do so quite beautifully. The Big Mango (Constellation) is the nickname for Land of Kush's Sam Shalabi's native Cairo. In contrast to the violent and bloody news that's been coming out of Egypt in recent weeks, this strange and wonderful piece of musical dilation celebrates equality and creativity.
