New Koha Release

LibLime announced the release of LibLime Koha 4.16 with Lucene's search engine, Soir. New features include foundational support for authority control, expanded SIP2 support for renewals, improved Solr stemming functionality, and enhanced search attributes for patron records for easier staff access. A variety of libraries sponsored many of the features.

3M and III Announce Integration

3M and Innovative Interfaces now offer integration of the ebook lending service with Encore. This allows library users to discover, place holds, and check out ebooks from within the Encore interface. There is a browse screen that displays all of the borrowed items and shows the item's due date. This integration enables library users to browse 3M's ebooks along with their library's local print and digital collections.

New Mobile App From APA

The American Psychological Association (APA) announced its new mobile app, APAPsycNET Mobile. This free app features functionality from the full version of its web interface. It allows users to search and access content from the text-based APA databases and ebooks that they subscribe to. Users can search by keyword, browse by title or author, or use the Citation Finder tool.

EBSCO and Common Library Network Sign Agreement

EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and GBV Common Library Network, Germany, signed an agreement to enable integrated access between EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and GBVs VuFind service. GBV launched VuFind, based on the OS search interface. With this collaboration, choosing VuFind with EDS will allow patrons to access expanded content and to acquire material from one source.

Elsevier Makes ScienceDirect Modules Available

Elsevier, provider of STM products and services, announced a new product, Reference Modules on ScienceDirect. These modules are updated by experts and include content from Elsevier's reference works, subject hierarchies designed by each module's editorial board, and links to relevant journal articles and book chapters on ScienceDirect. These modules offer journal articles and book chapters from more than 2,500 journals and more than 11,000 books.

OverDrive Offers More Ebooks OverDrive has added more than 17,000 Penguin ebooks. They are available for public and college libraries in the U.S. under the one-copy/oneuser lending model for a 1-year term.
