Ease-of-data entry and rapid calculations are features of contemporary tax preparation products. TurboTax's ProSeries/1040 and MicroVision's Tax Relief both facilitate data entry by providing input screens that match the IRS forms. Tax calculations are performed instantaneously.
MicroVision's "input engine" allows data to be entered randomly from a "shoe box." TurboTax's Taxview, a Windows-based program, creates exact replicas of IRS forms on screen.
Tax software continues to evolve to meet the ever-growing complexity of tax legislation. Computer Language Research, known for its GoSystem tax preparation software, has introduced a new, in-house tax preparation system, EasyGo, in conjunction with Research Institute of America's electronic tax research system, OnPoint.
EasyGo and OnPoint are integrated in a CD-ROM desktop software package that offers tax compliance, research, electronic forms, and planning and practice management on a single compact disk.
