I just saw "Her" over the weekend and, as a member of SAG, I can easily say it is, without question, one of the best films I've seen in more than 10 years. It's an instant classic and many will want to see it multiple times. I certainly will. - ellisonhorne

It is indeed something special, and only gets better with repeat viewings. I'm so glad the film is connecting with audiences and critics. And in a world where lives are lived online, I think this tale might end up proving eerily prescient.

IT'S A MAN'S WORLD

Readers reacted strongly to Robert Abele's story on the disproportionate number of male to female directors in this year's awards circle ("Male Call: Femme Directors Nearly Absent in 2013 Awards Season").

This is a bad and endless version of "Groundhog Day." I have been seeing this issue debated and ignored for the past 20 years. It will take a concerted effort by the decision makers - execs, stars, financiers - to make a real difference. The sad fact is that women execs are some of the worst offenders. - todd koerner

As a female indie director, I have trouble even talking to all those female networking sites that say they promote women. When they don't acknowledge your message or trailers, what hope is there? As a woman with two feature films on my back but not living in L.A., London or New York and mingling, things are very tough, -jenny
