1 WARPFILMS10 The cinematic arm of ubercool British record label Warp has hit its first decade and is celebrating by issuing a 200-page coffee table book containing some of its greatest movies. The DVDs tucked inside include no less than three by Shane Meadows (Dead Man's Shoes was the first ever Warp Films title), plus other excellent and diverse works such as Chris Morris' Four Lions, Richard Ayoade's Submarine, Paddy Considine's Tyrannosaur, Ben Wheatley's Kill List and Justin Kurzel's The Snowtown Murders.

2 MILQ The brainchild of Hear Music founder Don MacKinnon, Spectacle: Elvis Costello with... creator Jordan Jacobs, and Tomi Poutanen (who started Yahoo! Answers and wrote Bing's core search algorithm), Milq (milq.com) is a curated video site where users share clips they love, contributing to "beads" (strands of posts) that are linked by a common theme or question. Conceived as "a better way to explore the world of music, together," Milq (currently still in beta), also allows you to post movie, comedy or sports clips.

3 S As if directing films in both the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises weren't keeping him busy enough, J.J. Abrams this fall teamed up with novelist Doug Dorst to create S. (Mulholland Books, $35), an elaborate book in which a stranger and a female reader hold a conversation in the margin notes. While immersive storytelling is most associated with new media, Abrams and Dorst have created a metatextual treat - complete with numerous pieces of paraphernalia inside its pages - that is not only handsome but draws you utterly into its world.

4 ROUGH TRADE NYC Rough Trade, the iconic London record shop that spawned the equally iconic indie label, has crossed the pond and opened a branch in, where else, Brooklyn's criminally hip neighborhood of Williamsburg. Rough Trade NYC (64 N. 9th St.) is a live music venue as well as the place to find choice CDs and vinyl, but Is "on hiatus" following inaugural gigs by Television and Sky Ferreira that upset the neighbors due to poor soundproofing.
