Warner Bros' family film The Lego Movie scaled the top of the charts on an estimated $69.1m as The Monuments opened solidly in second place on $22.7m.

The Weinstein Company release Vampire Academy in seventh place on a disappointing $4.1m from 2,676 theatres.

Overall the top 12 dropped 2.5% against last weekend and fell approximately 19% against the comparable session in 2013.

Universal's Ride Along crossed $100m and ranks third on $105.2m after four sessions. Focus Features' That Awkward Moment ranks fifth on $16.8m after two.

Ben Wheatley's English Civil War horror film A Field In England opened through Drafthouse Films and grossed $5,000 from 10 sites.
