Visit Takes SXSW Entry Long Distance

Visit Films will present the world premiere of Carlos Marques-Marcet's first feature Long Distance (formerly 10,000KM) at SXSW.

Visit holds worldwide rights excluding Spain. Natalia Tena and David Verdaguer star as a happy Barcelona couple whose relationship is plunged into turmoil when an opportunity takes one of them far away.

Barcelona native Marques-Marcet has directed two award-winning shorts and a feature documentary and has edited several features including It Felt Like Love. He is a recipient of the La Caixa scholarship and is a graduate of the UCLA Film And Television MFA programme.

Visit director of acquisitions Aida LiPera negotiated the deal with the filmmakers and said, "We're really excited to be working on Long Distance as it is sure to introduce Carlos Marques-Marcet as an emerging voice in Spanish cinema.

"Updating the classical long distance relationship with new technologies and storytelling methods, he has captured a story that becomes increasingly relevant by the day for audiences. …
