There's still time to register for NRPA's legislative conference.

Face-to-face advocacy is the most effective way to change public policy. That's why all NRPA members are urged to attend NRPAs 2003 Legislative Forum on Parks & Recreation, to be held Feb. 26-March 1, in Washington, D.C.

The conference coincides with when the 108th Congress will be establishing its legislative agenda for the year. It's crucial that your federal representatives hear from you, their constituents, about the vital role that parks and recreation play in American life, and what federal resources are needed to help you help your community.

The highlight of the conference will occur on Feb. 27. On that Thursday, Parks and Recreation Day on Capitol Hill, delegates will meet at the offices of their senators, House members and congressional staff to educate them on important parks and recreation-related legislation. The meetings also give attendees the opportunity to discuss state and regional matters with their federal legislators, who often have great influence on local issues in the districts they represent. …
