Poll finds Scots back local spending

Nearly two-thirds of Scots would be willing to pay more council tax if money raised was guaranteed to boost local services, according to a poll for the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities. In a survey, carried out as part of Cosla's Commission on Strengthening Local Democracy, about 65% of people polled agreed either strongly or slightly that they would be willing to pay more. …
