Marvel Studios' Captain America: The Winter Solider was due to cross $100m on April 3 heading into what is expected to be a mighty second international session.

By the evening of April 3 the superhero sequel stood at more than $94.8m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

Winter Solider arrives in a further 35 markets this weekend, among them China, Russia, Australia and Hong Kong.

Need For Speed has amassed more than $102.3m through Disney markets and a further $33m through Mister Smith Entertainment.
