'Draft Day' returns star to sweet spot

Unlike such Hollywood leading man burnouts as Mickey Rourke and Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner's fall from the marquee list seemed more the result of overweening artistic ambition - sometimes bold, sometimes foolhardy - than any darker character flaws. Which is why it's especially heartening to see the Oscar winner, who is to receive the Icon Award at CinemaCon, back in the saddle with a crowded _ slate of upcoming wide releases.

After his supporting role in "Man of Steel" provided most of the actioner's heart, and his bornto-play-it part in History's "Hatfields & McCoys" put him back in auds' good graces and won him his first Emmy, Costner has graced multiplexes twice so far this year, with "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" and "3 Days to Kill. …
