Salvation Heads to France, Greece, Estonia

Kristian Levring's upcoming western The Salvation, set to play in Cannes, has been picked up by distributors in France, Greece and Estonia.

The film, starring Mads Mikkelsen, has been picked up by French distributors Jour2Fête and Chrysalis Films (co-distribution), Greek distributor Hollywood Entertainment and Estin Film from Estonia.

Levring, director of The King is Alive, has co-written the feature with Oscar winner Anders Thomas Jensen, writer of In a Better World and Love Is All You Need.

The Salvation was named as part of the Official Selection at the upcoming Cannes International Film Festival (May 14-25) where it will screen as one of the Midnight Screenings.

It stars Eva Green, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Mikael Persbrandt, Eric Cantona and Jonathan Pryce, lead by Mikkelsen as a Danish settler in 19th century North America, who sets out to avenge his family. …
