The Puterbaugh Festival

Inside this issue, we take a look back at the 2014 Puterbaugh Festival of International Literature & Culture (March 26-28), which celebrated Argentine/Spanish writer Andrés Neuman (see page 89). Neuman is the twenty-seventh Puterbaugh Fellow and the fifth Argentine writer in the series. The festival opened with bilingual poetry readings by poet Hélène Cardona, translator George Henson, and Puterbaugh Fellow Andrés Neuman (pictured above). The festival included a roundtable on contemporary Spanish and Latin American literature, a screening of Clandestine Childhood (Argentina's submission for the 2013 Academy Award for best foreign language film), a roundtable discussion on reading Neuman, and the author's keynote speech before an audience that included many local high school students. …
