Let the scheduling games begin! With upfronts looming, TV honchos have been locked in pilot screenings all week, feverishly trying to decide which shows will make it to the fall schedule. Yet one trend has emerged: This year, the studios have succeeded in spreading the wealth, selling shows not just to their inhouse counterparts, but to the other networks as well. Why the change? The increasingly crowded TV landscape means networks need to prove they can be competitive in luring top talent, explains one exec.
