Lionsgate Turns Up 'Power'; WB Sets 'Flintstones'

Reboots and TV-tomovie adaptations continue to pile up, with announcements of a live-action "Power Rangers" movie and an animated "Flintstones" feature. Lionsgate and Saban Brands are partnering on the "Power Rangers," looking to re-envision the group - teenagers chosen to protect the world from alien invaders. Meanwhile, Warner Bros, has hired Chris Henchy, a partner with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay at Gary Sanchez Prods., to write a script for the animated "Flintstones" movie.

Open Road Pulls Trigger on 'The Gunman'

Open Road Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Pierre Morel's action thriller "The Gunman," starring Sean Penn, Javier Bardem, Idris Elba and Ray Winstone. Studiocanal produced and financed the film, based on the novel "The Prone Gunman" by Jean-Patrick Manchette, about a former special forces officer suffering from PTSD who must make a run across Europe to clear his name.
