I might label this CD "Not Your Average Compact Disc." The use of the tenor banjo in recording other than Dixieland music seems very unique to me. From the first tune "Joy Spring" until a couple hours later ending in "Spain" this artist puts some very interesting music in the can. Of course he has some great charts from Steve Giordano as well as the playing of not only Giordano but also Steve Meashey and John Mossman.

Steve DiBonaventura explains that the tenor banjo is played with a flat pick and strummed much the same as a guitar. …
