Bobby Troup is very special to me. First and foremost, he is a product of Central Pennsylvania. He was bom in Harrisburg and grew up in Lancaster, PA. He worked in the family music store with locations in both cities. He entered the Marine Corps during World War II and following that migrated to California. He was a gifted song writer both melodies and lyrics and also a fine pianist although he would downplay that part. I recall seeing him from time to time as he would return to his home area. …
