Most men and women over the age of 50 have seen-and survived-a lot of change during the last three or four decades. How has all this affected their relationship with the opposite sex? How are married couples getting along these days?

EDK Associates of New York conducted a national poll of 1,000 over-50 respondents for New Choices magazine. Here's what some of their questions about life, love and getting along revealed:

The number of husbands who say they control the family finances dropped from 45 percent when they first got married to 35 percent today. If an important financial decision has to be made, 35 percent of the husbands and 14 percent of the wives say they have the final say.

Nearly half of married women say their husband is doing more housework than when they were first married. …
