VOLUNTEERISM AWARDS-The Prudential Spirit of the Community Awards is accepting applications from middle and high school students who have volunteered in their communities during the past year. Winners receive $1,000, a medallion and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for award ceremonies, sightseeing tours and a congressional reception at the Capitol. RE-BOOT YOUR MIND-Business Software Alliance is challenging high school students to participate in its ReBoot Your Mind Screen Saver Contest. The grand prize is a laptop computer and teachers and other winners are eligible for software packages. Students must write an essay, create original artwork or use computer technology to create a screen saver "that encourages ethical use of computer software." The deadline for entries is June 12.
