Honoree Brown's Passion for Music Is Her Motivation

Anastasia Brown, recipient of the Trailblazer Award at the Women in the Workforce Forum & Awards, credits naiveté in helping her blaze her own path as an artist manager, music supervisor, music publisher, A&R executive, talent booker and author.

Brown has spent her career "pursuing challenges that many people say can't be done," she says. In 1994, as a Nashville-based manager and partner with Miles Copeland in Firstars Management, she discovered Keith Urban. As a judge on USA Network's "Nashville Star," she brought a savvy level of insight and candor to the talent competition. But her most enduring work has been building a bridge between Nashville and Los Angeles as a consultant and/or music supervisor, including her role on Steven Spielberg's 40-hour Emmy Award-winning 2002 miniseries "Taken." as well as such films and television shows as "Footloose," "Charlie's War," "August Rush," "The Americans" and the documentary "For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville."
