The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced that the new chair of its Governing Board will be TOMÁS D. MORALES. Morales is the president of California State University, San Bernardino. He earned a bachelors from the State University of New York at New Paltz, and earned a masters and a doctorate from the University of Albany, State University of New York.

GLORIA COX has been appointed interim dean of the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas (UNT). Cox will continue to serve as dean of the UNT Honors College. She received bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from the University of South Carolina.

HASHIM SARKIS has been named dean of the School of Architecture and Planning at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a professor of landscape architecture and urbanism in Muslim societies in the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. Sarkis earned two bachelors from the Rhode Island School of Design, and a masters and a doctorate from Harvard University.

LUI HOKOANA has been named chancellor of the University of Hawaii Maui College. He was vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Hawaii-West Oahu. Hokoana earned a bachelors from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, a master's from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a doctorate from the University of Southern California.

AUSON BELL has been appointed director of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis's Degree Completion Office. She served as general manager of operations for Western Governors University in Indiana. …
