FINANCIAL INCENTIVES BOOST HEALTH COACHING

When employers offered financial incentives, employees were 33 times more likely to participate in telephone health coaching, and they did so sooner than employees without incentives. According to research from The Obesity Society, during a nearly threeyear period, 10 percent of a nonprofit health plan's members with incentives began using telephone health coaching, whereas only 0.3 percent of those without the incentives did so.

Many young workers are not saving enough to take full advantage of their employer's 401(k) match-potentially leaving thousands of dollars on the table and harming their long-term financial health, according to consultancy Aon Hewitt.
