I guide Early Childhood at Montessori School of Golden, in Golden, CO. One day, I was on the playground with my kiddos when I started hearing coughing, sniffing, and vomiting noises coming from under the play structure. I quickly went over and saw a group of children sitting in a circle, happy as can be. They looked up at me and the bodily noises stopped. I asked them what they were playing and Henry, one of the older boys, without missing a beat, said, "We're playing pretend allergies."

Oh, you Montessori children and your pretend-playing reality. I had to turn away as my grin was too huge to hide.
