Mike :Longo has had an interesting career. Both his parents were musicians. Early on he came to the attention of Julian "Cannonball" Adderley. Then from 1961 for two years he studied with Oscar Petersen. He got his big break in 1966 when Dizzy Gillespie hired him. His first album with Diz was "Swing Low, Sweet Cadillac". He was closely linked to the great trumpet player until the end. He has made numerous recordings on his own and as a side man. …
