NCEA's Information for Growth: Assessment of Children/ Youth Religious Education or NCEA IFG: ACRE edition questionnaire is an assessment tool for the cumulative impact of religious education programs and gathering information for the ongoing development for maturing faith. Traditionally the NCEA IFG: ACRE was completed in a printed scantron form. Many schools have asked for a way to complete the assessment using digital technologies such as a computer or iPad. After several years of exploration and negotiation, an affordable platform for a digital option is on the horizon.

This April, approximately 5,000 students from across the country will pilot an online option for completing the questionnaire. Using the same items that appear in the printed format, the digital option aims to create a secure environment for students to submit their individual responses while also maintaining confidentiality for their personal information. The pilot group consists of 70 Catholic schools and parish religious education programs that volunteered to test out the various steps involved in using a digital format to gather student responses and receiving enhanced report formats.
