Richard Gere's 'Strongheart' Still for Sale

After more than two years on and off the market, perennially good-looking Richard Gere's equally handsome compound in the low-key North Haven area near Sag Harbor, N.Y., in the hoity-toity Hamptons, remains unsold, with a heavy-duty asking price of $47.5 million. The seasoned actor and dedicated social activist purchased the three-parcel spread in three separate transactions between 2005 and 2008 for a total of $11.3 million, and the pristine property first came available over the summer of 2013 - just before it became public that Gere and Carey Lowell had decided to divorce. The initial aggressive $65 million asking price plummeted in the spring of 2014 to a still-too-steep $56 million.

The gated, postcard-ready compound, rather grandly dubbed "Strongheart Manor," sprawls out over nearly 63 acres with some 300 feet of direct bay frontage. …
