Emmy Fetes: Let's Get the Party Started

After last year's unconventionally timed telecast on a Monday night in August, the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards are once again on a Sunday, back on the third week of September (the start to the television season). Likewise, the most beloved awards shindigs have returned to their traditional nights as well. Here's where the small screen's biggest stars will be wining, dining, donating and dancing off during the decadent week-long toast to primetime TV.


Writers Nominee Reception: 7 p.m., Montage Beverly Hills Terrace

Writers Peer Group members, plus governors Chip Johannessen and Terence Winter, will toast their nominees.


Sublime Primetime Panel, 6:30 p.m., Writers Guild Theater

An all-star lineup of Emmy-nominated TV scribes, including Matthew Weiner and Jane Anderson, will share behind-the-scene scoops at this discussion moderated by Variety's Cynthia Littleton and presented by WGA West, the WGF and Variety.

Directors Nominee Reception: 7 p.m., Directors Guild of America Atrium

The Directors Peer Group, along with governors Fred Savage and Gail Mancuso, will don their best business attire and honor nominees at a classy cocktail reception sponsored by DGA.

Audi Celebrates Emmy Week: 7 p.m., Cecconi's West Hollywood

Event producer Tony Schubert crafted a monochromatic white interior for this whimsical annual affair - where talent is transported via luxury Audi models.


Vanity Fair Social Club: 5:30-9 p.m.. We Work Hollywood

After several successful Oscar programs, this pop-up workspace and lounge is coming to Emmys to host panels and offer up gifts and refreshments, also open noon-6 p.m. Saturday and noon-8 p.m. Sunday.

Heifer Inti.'s Beyond Hunger: A Place at the Table: 6:30 p.m., Montage Beverly Hills

Diane Lane. Susan Sarandon and Nikki Reed are among the prominent hosts and Michael McDonald will perform at this fourth annual dinner benefit aiming to empower women and enable girls' education.

Producers Nominee Reception: 7 p.m.. Montage Beverly Hills Terrace

Governors Hayma ''Screech" Washington and Tim Gibbons will lead the producers' peer group in feting their nominated kin.

Variety and Women In Film's Pre-Emmy Party: 8 p.m., Gracias Madre

A starry host committee - including Uzo Aduba, Angela Bassett, Julie Bowen, Neil Patrick Harris, Ryan Murphy and Ted Sarandos - is enlisted to help salute this year's nominated femmes at the stylish vegan spot.

UTA party: 7:30 p.m., the Brentwood home of UTA managing director Jay Sures

Network and studio friends, special colleagues and nominated clients, like Jill Soloway and Amy Schumer.

WME party: 8 p.m.. Hammer Museum

A room of heavy-hitting agents and clients such as Claire Danes, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Matt LeBlanc, William H. Macy, Bob Odenkirk and Amy Poehler could make serious history.

CAA party: Bouchon

A starry parade of nominees including Jon Hamm. Kevin Spacey, Viola Davis, David Oyelowo and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will overtake Thomas Keller's upscale Beverly Hills bistro.


Women Making History Awards: 10:30 a.m., Skirball Cultural Center

Viola Davis and Diane Warren are among the fierce females who'll be honored by presenters including Maria Bello and Leona Lewis at the National Women's History Museum and Glamour Magazine's weekend brunch.

ICM Partners Annual Emmy Brunch: 11:30 a.m.. private residence
