Our beloved Catholic schools exist to provide an outstanding education in a faith-enriched environment Throughout the years, they have adhered to a fairly standard style of governance, primarily as parish-based schools. However, as Catholic schools across the nation have struggled to survive or sustain themselves, new and innovative forms of governance have emerged to breathe fresh life into parish and diocesan schools. These governance models are evolving rapidly, and no two allocate governing authority in quite the same way.

Considered the make-or-break element of successful schools, governance has captured the attention of philanthropists, Catholic education leaders, bishops, and others who share a passion for Catholic education. Until now, administrators looking for a workable model for their own system have had to cull through reams of material.

Breathing New Life into Catholic Schools: An Exploration of Governance Models, a ground-breaking research of governance for high-level policy-making authorities, is the response from Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities (FADICA) and its partners committed to offering long-term solutions and tools to set Catholic schools on sustainable paths.
