China and India Events Focus on Managing Change

More than 1,200 HR professionals came together in separate events in China and India in September to learn about managing change inside and outside their organizations.

About 850 HR professionals, corporate executives and thought leaders attended the 2015 SHRM India Annual Conference & Exposition held in New Delhi.

The two-day event was aimed at inspiring participants to speed the growth of HR in their organizations, said Achal Khanna, CEO of SHRM India.

The theme was "Velocity: Accelerating HR," and sessions reflected the need for HR professionals to have not just speed but focus in their efforts to meet the constantly changing demands of today's business world.

Varun Agarwal, who defied his parents' and society's expectations to become a filmmaker, entrepreneur and best-selling author, talked about the power of "positive disruption."
