Allison Hickey resigned her position as VA's undersecretary for beneOts on Oct. 16. The move came less than a month after a VA Inspector General's report accused Hickey of inappropriately approving more than $400,000 in relocation expenses for two VA regional ofOce directors.

According to the inspector general report, both directors-Diana Rubens at the Philadelphia ofOce and Kimberly Graves at the St. Paul, Minn., ofOce- "inappropriately" used their positions "for personal and Onancial beneOt."

Additionally, the report noted that both directors retained their annual salaries ($181,497 for Rubens and $173,949 for Graves) even though their "reassignments resulted in a signiOcant decrease in job responsibilities." In total, VA spent about $1.8 million of taxpayer money for the reassignments.
