Second-Time Host for 68th Emmy Awards

Jimmy Kimmel has confirmed Variety's February report that he will host this year's Emmy Awards, marking his second time as emcee, following his stint in 2012, when the show last aired on ABC. The telecast rotates each year among the four broadcast networks. Seth Meyers hosted the ceremony in 2014, when NBC aired the telecast, and Andy Samberg tackled those duties last year when Fox carried the show. "The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards" will air live on ABC from L.A.'s Microsoft Theater on Sept. 18. Noms will be announced on July 14.

Legendary Shakes Up Exec Ranks Post-Sale

In the wake of the recent acquisition of Legendary Entertainment by China's Dalian Wanda Group, the executive ranks at the company that produced "Godzilla" saw a shakeup, with producer Mary Parent tapped as vice chair of worldwide production. Her hiring came three days after Jon Jashni left as president and chief creative officer of the company, founded by Thomas Tull. The firm noted that Parent's appointment "is timed to a new phase for Legendary." Parent has a long career as a producer, with "The Revenant" among her recent credits. …
