Spacey Bows Out at Relativity; Brunetti Stays

While Kevin Spacey has opted out of assuming the chairmanship of embattled Relativity Media, his producing partner, Dana Brunetti, has signed on to become president of production, running film and TV operations. Brunetti said he plans to make "character driven, compelling stories... for mass audiences." He will share greenlight authority with Ryan Kavanaugh, according to an employment agreement. Brunetti's deal is contingent on Relativty delivering $100 million in funding it claims to have raised, it is not clear if Spacers exit will imperil Relativity's emergence from bankruptcy. Spacey has a busy sked, with a fifth season of "House of Cards" and film roles including "Baby Driver."
