Simmer down, 007 watchers - Tom Hiddleston isn't the only British heartthrob with the charm and swagger to play James Bond. If Daniel Craig bows out, here are some candidates we think have the goods. - BRENT LANG

Tom Hardy

Why: One of today's most exciting actors. he would bring a brooding intensity to the role. And after "Mad Max: Fury Road," 007's stunts would be a walk in the park.

Problem: He's even harder to control than the press-averse and outspoken Craig.

Likelihood: High.

John Boyega

Why: As Finn in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," he added a human element and showed he could deliver a punch line (humor is Bond's secret weapon). He would also bring an injection of diversity to a series whose previous idea of a shakeup was a blond Bond.

Problem: Unlikely to get time off from a galaxy far, far away.

Likelihood: An out-of-the-box choice - in a good way. Be bold, Barbara Broccoli, be bold.

Max Irons

Why: Jeremy Irons' son, 30, has impressed as the posh object of affection in "The White Queen" and "Red Riding Hood," but needs a career-making role. …
