The divorcing Australian actors Anthony LaPaglia and Gia Carides have sold their long-time compound in the ritzy Brentwood Park neighborhood of Los Angeles for $8.2 million - substantially below the original asking price of nearly $12 million. Married for about 17 years, the couple acquired the half-acre spread in November 2003 from financier Mark Ostroff and his wife, former president of entertainment at The CW and current president of Condé Nast Entertainment, Dawn Ostroff. The main house, a renovated and expanded 1940s Cape Cod, measures about 5,500 square feet and incorporates an airy center hall entry, and ample living and dining rooms - the former with French doors set on either side of a fireplace, and an itty-bitty library nook. A separate family room has exposed brick walls and a wall of transom-topped glass doors that lead to the garden. The kitchen and sunny breakfast nook open through French doors to an expansive deck that overlooks the swimming pool. …
