Maren Ade's hit sensation "Toni Erdmann," about an aging father trying to reconnect with his daughter, screens in Special Presentations. The film, which stars Sandra Hueller and Peter Simonischek, was well received in Cannes, where it picked up the Intl. Critics' Prize.

Special Presentations will also screen Werner Herzog's eco-thriller "Salt and Fire," starring Michael Shannon, Veronica Ferres and Gael Garcia Bernal.

Wim Wenders' "The Beautiful Days of Aranjuez," an adaptation of Peter Handke's play about a man and a woman who share their thoughts on love will be presented in the Masters section.

Several German co-productions are also screening in Special Presentations, including two co-produced by Berlin-based X Filme Creative Pool: "Brimstone," Dutch director Martin Koolhoven's Western thriller starring Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce and Kit Harington; and Francois Ozon's "Frantz," about a young Frenchman who visits a German town following the end of World War I in search of a grave. …
